The students are coming up with fantastic questions about Buddhist beliefs and rituals...

Maggie: In Buddhism, if each person is to be treated with love and kindness, how are criminals (and people who aren't kind to anyone else) supposed to be treated?

Jack L.: Why does the lotus flower often represent Buddhism?

Mason: The "lotus" is a pre-game warmup stretch, too. Are the reasons that some athletes use the lotus position the same as the reasons that Buddhists use it?

Chaolin: Has there ever been a person, in history, who did not suffer at all? If so, was he or she a Buddhist?

Alex: If Buddhists ever complete their quest to stop suffering, will they then care about whether God is real and how the Universe was created?

Lucy: Do some Buddhists believe that there is a god or supreme being? 

Martha: Is there a country with zero Buddhists? 


Tatiana: Why did the Buddha lay on his side as he entered nirvana?

Harrison: Did Buddha ever regret leaving his family?

Griffin : I looked over my shoulder and there it was: the supreme art by so many artists, with the vivid colors popping out at you. I don’t pay attention to the detail of the objects or animals in the picture, but actually the detail of the color of the art. It was outstanding that they used gold so much, even mixing it with the other colors, to represent heaven. I loved the use of brown as well. One of my classmates said that the brown wasn’t as vivid and did not strike out as much. I disagree, because brown can bring the best colors in a picture to life. It almost felt that I was in the picture watching myself in astonishment, seeing myself darting my eyes to everything I saw in the beautiful painted picture.
